I showed up right as the monsoon began – but it wasn’t to long after the rain died down, everyone was soaked, and the drifting started up. The event was a lot of fun, mostly because of all the model-trolling, and fun we had with all our friends taking pictures of nonsense (which I will eventually post). Hot Import Nights returned to Orlando, Florida’s Central Florida Road Course for the annual showing of cars, models, lights, and some drifting in between. Growing up one thing in video games and racing had always excited me, the fastest lap time. Karting became not about winning, but how fast could I go putting it all on the line for one lap. The extra hundredth of a second of my lap time was worth going through the dirt, spinning out, or brushing the wall. At Celebration Station and with the controller in my hand, my love for time attack was born and I didn’t even know it.
